Most establishments using lasers employ the services of an independent Laser Protection Adviser (LPA). The Lasersafe LPA will provide expert specialist advice regarding the assessment of the risks involved with laser use, to employees, patients, clients and members of the public.

Initial visit

An initial visit will usually be required to assess the equipment and facility and to help provide suitable documentation (local rules etc). Recommendations will be made based on current legislation, safety standards and best practice guidance.

Continued support

laser protection adviser services The LPA can be appointed on an ongoing basis to provide continual support to the locally appointed laser/radiation safety staff (e.g LPS or LSO). An annual laser protection advisory visit would also be included as part of this service.
