Target Delegates
All professionals involved with the use of medical and cosmetic lasers or intense pulsed light (IPL) equipment. Ideal for laser operators and those undertaking (or planning to undertake) the roles of Laser Protection Supervisor (LPS)/ Laser Safety Officer (LSO).

Aim of the Laser/IPL Safety Management Course
To provide participants with an understanding of the legal and operational safety requirements concerning laser and IPL equipment, focusing on medical and cosmetic applications. The latest developments in UK legislation and laser/IPL regulation will also be covered. Session content:

- Laser/intense light generation and characteristics
- Tissue interaction (esp. eye and skin exposure)
- Hazards and risks of intense light sources
- Risk assessment and safety management
- Equipment management and quality assurance
- Relevant legislation and safety standards including CQC/HIW Registration
- Update in laser safety regulation and new legislation (2010)
