About the SRPThe Society for Radiological Protection is the leading UK society which aims to promote learning and skills in the area of radiation protection, to improve education and establish and maintain professional standards in the field. It is the largest society of its kind in Europe, and second largest in the world. There are currently over 2000 members.
'Fellow' grade membership (FSRP)Fellow grade membership is the highest grade of membership. It is described by the Society as conveying substantial professional experience in a senior position involving radiation protection and for individuals who have made a significant impact on the profession in their sector.
Requirements of fellow grade membership (FSRP):
- Full membership of SRP for over 5 years (membership requires 4 yrs professional experience)
- Position of responsibility for over 10 years
- Demonstrate of substantial professional experience in a senior position
- Demonstrate a significant impact on the profession in their sector
Chartered Radiation Protection Professional since 2002The title Chartered Radiation Protection Professional is exclusive to the Society for Radiological Protection. It stands for knowledge and experience as a radiation protection professional that can be relied on by employers and the wider community. As well as competence, the title denotes a high level of professionalism, and commitment to keep pace with new developments.
Requirements:
- Membership of SRP
- Masters degree or equivalent
- Committed to Continual Professional Development
